Purchasing Student Home Materials - Play-a-Story
The Play-a-Story improvisation program consists of three modules (Zephyr Wind, Ocean Lullaby and Travel Notes). You can choose to buy one module at a time, or you can purchase all three at a discounted per module price. You are purchasing a subscription that expires after two years so I recommend purchasing per module in case we take longer than two years to move through the entire curriculum.
When you purchase your Play-a-Story subscription, there will be an option to purchase a physical storybook. If you think you might like the book but are not sure, feel free to delay the Play-a-Story purchase and I can show you the book at our first lesson.

3. Choose the "Multi-Journey Pack" or “Journey 1: Song of the Zephyr-Wind.” Click the green “Purchase Here” button.
4. Complete your purchase on the next screens.

Purchasing Student Home Materials - Simply Music
There are a variety of streams (e.g. Foundation Levels, Accompaniment, Composition and Improvisation, Reading Music) in the Simply Music curriculum that use Student Home Materials (SHMs). Use of SHMs will be vital to progress in piano lessons.
Initially you will need Foundation Level 1 as well as Playlist Management.
Foundation Level 1 materials include downloadable audio, streaming video, and PDF files and cost $35.
Playlist Management consists of a PDF and costs $10.
- Go to https://students.simplymusic.com/store/
- Click on Foundation Program.
- Click on Level 1.
- Click “Add to Cart”
- Return to https://students.simplymusic.com/store/
- Click on Supplemental Programs.
- Click on Playlist Management and Add to Cart.
- Complete the steps as prompted to complete your purchase. Access to your digital materials is immediate.
You will be prompted to set up an account.
Linked teacher ID is 549.
Print the Foundation Level 1 Reference Book (NOT the Music Book) though there's no need to print the ink-heavy front and back covers. Print double-sided if possible. Be mindful of the two-page spread if you do indeed print double-sided. In other words, be sure that the Dreams Come True lyrics and Dreams Come True reference clues appear on two adjacent pages rather than on both sides of one piece of paper.
From the Playlist Management pdf, print one page of the "Express Yourself" pages. This is the page that looks much like graph paper.
Bring your printouts to your first lesson. I will provide a binder with index tabs set up for you.
